A beginner’s journey can sometimes be a daunting experience that leads to an eventual final destination. This can be avoided if Clarity of Intention is established from the start. After all, ‘poses’ have no inherent meaning of their own. This workshop is a process of self enquiring the WHY rather than the ‘HOW to pose’.
You are invited to reconsider how asanas can be executed more functionally, efficiently and intelligently thru Economy of movement (no unnecessary strain).
Drawing upon insights from practical anatomy (not Grey’s anatomy), we will deconstruct asanas with focus on the following:
- Groundwork: stability and resilience, spatial awareness, functional anatomy
- Objectives: Primary and secondary focus of a posture
- Form vs Functionality: Do the benefits outweigh the risks?
The intention is to ‘sense and feel’ not just the physical, but how awareness through movement can be a source of healing and empowerment.
Who is it for? Beginners & Re~learners
