Some of the common questions I often get in vinyasa and flow classes are…How do I build strength? What strength is it that is actually needed?
Should I move my heels forward first before lowering?
Should I be lower than halfway down?
Will I hurt my shoulder if I do that?
Why are my elbows flaring out?
How can I modify it?
What muscles am I using?
What are my choices when the teacher says ‘take a vinyasa’?
If any of these hit a spot with you, this workshop is going to answer them all.
I used to have so many questions about this pose during the start of my yoga journey. Considering how many Chaturangas are done in a single class and multiply that across several classes in one week, one month, it is amazing that we are practicing Chaturanga without clarity and precision.
This workshop serves to teach you to practice Chaturanga with greater refinement and skilfulness. I will address the common blind spots, bad habits as well as the alignment, biomechanics and anatomical aspects of it. We will practice through fun drills, creative prop variations and smart sequencing. Expect an in-depth understanding of how to work intelligently with this pose!
