Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with poses, or asanas that are held for longer periods of time for 1 to 5 minutes. It is a more meditative approach to yoga, aiming at cultivating awareness of inner silence. This practice wonderfully complements other athletic activities including hot yoga, running, cycling, and winter sports.

Yin yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. They are also designed to improve the flow of qi, the subtle energy said in Chinese medicine to run through the meridian pathways of the body. Improved qi flow is hypothesized to improve organ health, immunity, and emotional well-being. Expect a relaxed atmosphere and a meditative practice.

Suitable for everyone who wants to relax, relieve stress or improve flexibility.

What Yin Yoga Does For Your Body?

Revitalize The Body

A tired body is one that has tight muscles and suffers from decreased ranges of motion. With Yin yoga, slow and mindful routines, such as deep stretches, will be used for your body to restore itself. Sitting or reclining postures in the routine helps the body remove muscle knots, which releases built-up tension within the musculoskeletal system. Following this, yin yoga asanas help the muscles become more flexible, by being stretched and compressed. Most students come out of yin yoga workshops feeling refreshed and active.

Stress Resilience

Yin yoga workshops focus significantly on building mental strength while going through yin yoga postures. Yin yoga emphasises inner peace – slow, contemplative routines give practitioners the time and space to come face to face with their emotions and stress. Putting students into a meditative state, yin yoga has the ability to calm down the body’s nervous systems. Yin yoga is the best for dealing with emotions and promoting self-love.

Increased Flexibility

Yin yoga stretches the fascia throughout the body. This yoga style reaches the deepest connective tissues of the body and hence exercises joints and muscles with stretching movements. Bones and joints are also trained as circulation to these parts of the body are increased during yin yoga sessions. Long-held stretches in yin yoga could benefit the body greatly.
