Ashtanga Led

This class is for all levels of Ashtanga practitioners, except for those who are brand new to this style of yoga. The instructor’s intention is to flow through the entire primary series. However, if the majority of the class is less experienced, the instructor will only cover the first half of the primary series.
For those who are less experienced, there are two options: observe the unfamiliar asanas and/or modify the postures. Over time and with consistent practice, the student will be more comfortable and able to do the entire primary series in an uninterrupted, rhythmic, and meditative flow.
This type of yoga based on eight principles and consisting of a series of poses executed in swift succession, combined with deep, controlled breathing.
This class is meant to challenge but not to overwhelm. Come, do your best, and lose yourself in the flow!

Why Challenge Ashtanga Led Yoga?

Building Stamina

A guided Ashtanga class teaches students how to breathe according to counts. The yoga teacher calls out the names of the particular postures, together with the counts in Sanskrit. Students following the numerous poses may find themselves sweating quickly, and have little choice but to control the pace of their breathing in accordance with the counts. Entering in and out of each asana pushes the student to learn how to breathe properly and in sync.

Challenge Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga Led classes are known to be one of the physically demanding yoga classes. There are various asanas in the series, and then a vinyasa sandwiched between them. However, instructors will take special care to go through each asana and lead counts, to get students familiar with what is required in this yoga workshop. Many asanas involve balancing on either a single leg, or both hands, and hence confers significant muscular benefits onto practitioners. Be ready for a tough session, even if it is guided Ashtanga!
